So your kids will have a clue.

When nothing can be found, your children have to work out what you owned, one letter at a time. Legacy Locker gets the record ready now, while you can still tell them about it.

At a kitchen table, an older person holds a document flat while their adult child photographs it with a phone.

What happens when nothing can be found

An open sideboard drawer crammed with old folders, bundled letters, a passport, keys and a pair of reading glasses.
  1. Your children have to ask banks, super funds, share registries, insurers and utilities what you had with them.

  2. Small shareholdings can cost more to trace than they are worth, so they are often given up on.

  3. An account they don't know about is never closed. The money just sits there.

Money that nobody finds becomes money that nobody claims. About A$2.7 billion from old bank accounts, shares and insurance policies is waiting to be claimed in Australia. Source: ASIC

What Legacy Locker does

Every document that goes in also adds to the Executor's Ledger™, below.

  1. Your son or daughter uploads each document.

At your kitchen table, with a phone. Or they upload PDFs and files you already have. Nobody types anything in.

  2. The locker reads it and files it in the right drawer.

The drawers sit under these headings: Estate and Money; Home, Vehicles and Valuables; Everyday Arrangements; Personal and Family.

  3. It flags the dates that have lapsed or are coming up.

For example: a super nomination that has expired, or an insurance policy due for renewal.

  4. Ask it a question, like “when does the car insurance renew?”

It answers with the document the answer came from. For now only you can open your locker.

The Executor's Ledger™

The list every executor is asked for, built while everyone is still around to help.

When someone dies, the executor must produce a list of everything they owned. The lawyer, the court, the banks and the super funds all ask for it, and the family rarely knows. Legacy Locker builds it from the family's own documents, years before it is needed.

  • Everything they own, in one list.

Every shareholding across every share registry, every super fund and its nomination, every policy, property and bank account.

  • Each line marked for what it is.

Confirmed from a document, worked out (such as shares from a company that later split in two) or still open. The reasoning is shown on every line that was worked out.

  • It asks what an executor never could.

“We found AMP shares from 1998 but nothing since. Do you still have them?” Each answer is recorded as the family's own, with the date.

  • Ready to hand over.

A printed ledger for the executor, the lawyer or the accountant, with each line's source document and the date of its last known value. With it, a Statement of Assets and Liabilities, laid out the way the lawyer needs it for the probate application.

  • Larder Supermarkets

    Worked out

Nobody uploaded a document from this company. A 2018 holding statement shows 1,200 Tasman Diversified shares, and in November 2018 its shareholders received one Larder Supermarkets share for each share held.

Margaret's notebook, July 2026, says documents are held in safe custody. It does not say what they are.

The Estate Readiness Score™

How ready the documents are, as a number.

Estate Readiness Score™

86/100

The score asks one question. If the time came tomorrow, how ready are the documents for the lawyer who handles the estate?

The score is worked out with a specially developed method, unique to Legacy Locker, built to give an accurate picture of how ready the documents are. We keep the method private. It uses the documents in the locker and the answers you give. It rises as documents go in and questions are answered, and drops when something lapses.

It measures the paperwork, never the will itself.

How your documents are kept safe

Your will, your statements and your titles. Here is how we keep them safe.

  • Kept in Australia

Your documents are stored in Sydney. A private AI here in Australia reads them so they can be filed. It doesn't keep them, and it is never ChatGPT.

  • Locked Before They're Sent

Each document is scrambled on your phone or computer before it is sent. It can only be unscrambled with your locker's own key.

  • Your Password Isn't Enough

Once you're set up, every sign-in has a second check: your fingerprint, your face, or a code on your phone. Someone who knew your password still couldn't get in.

  • You Choose Who Sees It

Nobody else can open your locker unless you invite them. You can take them off at any time.

Being Built to ISO 27001

ISO 27001 is the international standard for keeping information safe. We're building Legacy Locker to it now, and certification will follow in 2027.

Take all your documents with you, any time

Your documents are yours. One button downloads everything in your locker, sorted into the same drawers you see in the app.

  • One Button, Any Time

Press Download Everything. After a quick check that it's you, your whole locker comes down as one file.

  • Sorted Into the Same Drawers

Each document sits in a folder for its drawer, such as Wills & Estate Planning or Superannuation, with your notes beside it.

  • Your Documents, Just as You Uploaded Them

Every PDF and photo opens on any computer. A Read Me First page and a list of every document come with them.

What the locker will never do

Four things it does not do, so there is no doubt about what it is.

  • Change a document. It reads what you give it and files it. The original is never altered.

  • Contact a bank, a fund, a registry or anyone else. It never writes to anyone on your behalf.

  • Give advice. It tells you what the documents say and which dates have passed. It never tells you what to do about them.

  • Release anything on its own. Nothing leaves the locker unless the owner opens it.

Alongside the lawyer, never instead of one

Legacy Locker doesn't write wills, refer anyone or give legal or financial advice. It works alongside the lawyer, the trustee or the service handling the estate.

When the time comes, they start with the Executor's Ledger™: a list of what exists and where it is, with the document behind each line, laid out the way a lawyer needs it for the statement of assets and liabilities. Instead of a drawer, they start with a list.

Questions

What does it cost?

A$297 a year or A$28 a month, for one parent or both. The first 100 families get the early adopter price: A$195 a year or A$20 a month, locked until 31 December 2028 while you stay subscribed. Prices include GST.

What is the Executor's Ledger™?

One list of everything a person owns, built from their own documents: shares, super, policies, property and bank accounts, each with its source document. It is what the executor is asked for first.

How is the Estate Readiness Score™ worked out?

With a specially developed method, unique to Legacy Locker, built to give an accurate picture of how ready the documents are. We keep the method private. It uses the documents and answers in the locker. It measures how ready the paperwork is for the lawyer who handles the estate. It doesn't judge the will or give advice.

Can I try it before uploading my own documents?

Yes. One button fills your locker with sample documents, a made-up family's documents, so you can see how it files and flags things before you add anything of your own.

What do I need?

An email address, and either a phone with an authenticator app or a device with Face ID, fingerprint or Windows Hello. If an authenticator app sounds like a hassle, a son or daughter can set it up with you in a few minutes.

What kinds of files can it read?

PDFs, photos, Word and Excel files. Most people upload each document from their phone.

Does Legacy Locker use AI to read my documents?

Yes. Every document is encrypted on its way in and while it is stored. To file one, the locker opens it on servers in Australia, where a private AI reads it. The AI service does not keep your documents once it has finished with them, which is within minutes, and it is not trained on them. It is never a public service like ChatGPT.

What if my documents are in another language or script?

Legacy Locker translates them for you. Any document that isn't in English is translated into English automatically, whether it's in Italian or Greek, Hindi, Punjabi or Tamil, Vietnamese, Thai or Indonesian, Chinese, Arabic or another language. Each document keeps both its original text and the English translation, so you and your family can always understand what it says.

Can I get all my data if I want to leave?

Yes. At any time you can download your whole locker as one well-organised zip file. Every document is in a folder for its drawer, with your notes beside it, together with your ledger and a list of everything. Nothing is left behind, and you, your family or a new adviser can find your way around it straight away.

Who can see the locker?

Its owner, and only the people the owner invites: a helper who can add documents, or someone who can only look. The owner can take anyone off at any time. The key and handing the ledger to the executor are coming.

Will Legacy Locker contact my bank or super fund?

No. It reads the documents you give it and never contacts anyone.

Does it work in my state?

Yes. It is built for Australian documents and works the same way wherever you live.

Is Legacy Locker certified?

Not yet. We're building Legacy Locker to ISO 27001, the international standard for keeping information safe, and certification will follow in 2027. Until then we'd rather tell you exactly how your documents are protected, which is set out above.

Get the record ready now, while you can still tell them about it.
